The following names are taken a taxation roll from Imola, Italy, south-east of Bologna, in 1312. Imola is in the Emilliano-Romagnolo dialect area of Italy (see "The Italian Dialects"). However, the tax roll was written in Latin, and so the spellings here (particularly for the men's names) may not represent the spoken form in use at this time. As a rule of thumb, the feminine names that end in -a are probably identical to the spoken Italian forms, and masculine names ending in -us can be converted to Italian forms by replacing -us with -o. However, there are exceptions to this with the masculine names; for example Iulianus corresponds to Giuliano. You can often find plausible vernacular forms for the men's names at Italian Given Names from the Online Tratte of Office Holders 1282-1532.

I have sorted the names into four lists: Men's names alphabetically, women's names alphabetically, men's names by frequency, and women's names by frequency. The records were arranged via contrata, which appears to correspond to a region of the city or the surrounding lands under the control or ownership of a certain family. I have listed the contrata (in Latin genitive case) where each name is found.

A partial list of bynames and a discussion of the name patterns is also available.
