Ordinary language is all right.
One could divide humanity into two classes:
those who master a metaphor, and those who hold by a formula.
Those with a bent for both are too few, they do not comprise a class.

'"Relevance" here means utterances that will profit a listener and thereby recommend the speaker as an ally. If you can regularly say "there's some food over there" and be right, then you have signaled to me that you can probably do me some good and therefore that I should select you as a partner.'
