Ordinary language is all right.
One could divide humanity into two classes:
those who master a metaphor, and those who hold by a formula.
Those with a bent for both are too few, they do not comprise a class.
Don't dress it up.
Add a stage direction to our script.
Give them a moment to look down on someone.
Give us misgivings.
Doubt in the indicative.
Want enough of others for what they give to disappoint.
Tell them what they want you to hear.
To get them, get to them.
What gets to us is what stays with us.
