Lev Tolstoy really loved children and wrote a poem about them. He copied the poem into a separate notebook. One day after tea he gave this notebook to his wife - "Take a look at this, Sophie - tell me the truth, is it better than Pushkin?" - and held himelf up on crutches. She read a bit and said, "No, Lev baby, much worse. But what's this?" Then he beat her on the head with his crutches - smack! Since then he has totally heeded her literary taste.
