Ordinary language is all right.
One could divide humanity into two classes:
those who master a metaphor, and those who hold by a formula.
Those with a bent for both are too few, they do not comprise a class.
Side with neither side.
Convict with words, then let the reader look for someone to arraign.
Quote worn-down phrases.
Be the one who's not letting it pass without comment.
Act as if we're all always playing along.
Allow for only the truly foolish ever to be fooled.
Play what people say off what others see.
Let subtleties come to surfaces.
Be honest about someone's dishonesty.
