The following names are taken from the Chronicon Spilimbergense, a chronicle of the city of Spilimbergo, a small city about 115km north-east of Venice and 30 west of Udine. The chronicle is quite short (13 pages in printed edition), and contains records from the 13th C to 15th C. The records are in Latin, so the given names are Latinized; when a name is not in the nominative, i have converted it to the nominative form. In most cases it is easy to construct the likely vernacular: For masculine names, remove the terminal -us and replace it with -o. In cases where this does not work, I have made a note. Not all of the people mentioned are themselves Italian; I have tried to note whenever a name was used exclusively by foreigners. Likewise I've noted the names of popesand patriarchs, since they may not be typical of the ordinary population.

Because many people (such as patriarchs and ecclesiastical officials) show up in more than one entry, I have not provided any frequency analysis of the names, since it is not always possible to tell when two different entries refer to different people.
